MAD For Life: A Puppet Edu-tainment
MADaboutART provides a unique arts-based HIV education and youth empowerment programme in Southern Africa. It also creates educational links with young people in the UK in order to foster greater understanding and awareness of HIV internationally.
Their intervention and care delivery is centred in the Southern Cape of South Africa. Outreach work through its innovative art-based programme reaches a much greater audience via media and exhibition-based projects.
Their awareness work has international appeal, through the work of children creating opportunities for greater understanding of how HIV and AIDS impact lives in Africa.
MAD For Life: A Puppet Edu-tainment is a development-staged life skills drama programme involving youth in community health improvement and providing income generation through children’s puppet work. The project will involve and target orphans and children who are vulnerable as a result of HIV and AIDS. HIV education will be delivered to children and young people as well as parents and other adults in communities as secondary audiences. The Puppet Theatre will allow MADaboutART to increase delivery of HIV educational messages by providing an exciting new way of engaging pre-school children who are one of the core beneficiaries of MADaboutART’s work.
